In Memoriam: America Remembers
Yesterday, ten years ago was 9/11, a day, like Pearl Harbor, that will 'Live in infamy". Yesterday countless Americans watched the live tribute to the thousands of men, women and children who lost their lives. In the space of a few hours, Americans made decisions. They made the choice to rescue friends, co workers, heck, people they didn't even know. Firemen, members of the police forces, even bystanders plunged into the wreckage of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon to save innocent lives. But in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, no such help came. There was no way that the passengers of Flight 93 could have been saved as they plunged into the death spiral that sent them crashing to their destruction. But at the end, they stood strong. The called loved ones, telling them how much they loved them and saying goodbye. The people voted, making the decision to take a stand and regain control of the plane, to save more lives. For these things we will always remember the victims of 9/11. God bless America.

I have a question for you guys
I read an article on MSNBC just now. The article talked about a little boy who was kidnapped and murdered. The child was only 8. Why does this happen? Why are innocent children abducted, assaulted, tortured and murdered? I cried as I read the article and I'm crying now as I type this. We need to do something. I don't know what we should do; I'm still working on that. Maybe the first thing we should do is pray. Tell your friends about my blog. Show them the link that will be available at the bottome of the post. I can't do this alone.

japan crisis
hey everyone. im assuming that u've all seen the stuff on the news about japan, right? i no its a long ways away from north america, but this is just an example of how dangerous nuclear energy can be. [mikhayla, you do no that ur supposed to be commenting and telling other people about the blog, right?] did u no that there are 2 types of nuclear energy? they're called fission and fusion. fission is when two chemicals are split apart. fusion, is where the chemicals are combined. this is the method that humans use to generate electricity. if we used fission, the energy would be so powerful, it would blow up the power plant. in the case of japan, 30% of they're energy is nuclear. when the earthquake hit, it damaged several power plants, which released radioactivity into the air. im not saying that it's japan's fault, but this only proves that we never no what will happen. a natural disaster can occur at any time. thanks for reading and please follow and tell ur friends about my blog if u havent already!!!

mother earth needs help
hey yall! have u taken a look around lately? yeah? what'd u see? snow, ice, salt? see any pollution? yes, even in winter there is pollution. our planet is scarred by things like pollution(plastic bottles, random trash), acid rain, smog, and radioactive waste. u may be thinking, "yeah? what can i do about it? im just a kid" to me, it doesnt matter that ur just a kid. if we all work together, we can cut down on pollution. did u no, that there are huge gyres in the Pacific? "wait, what's a gyre?" a gyre is a huge island made of plastics and other wastes. there are several of these gyres in the middle of the pacific. one of them is the size of texas. to prevent more plastic being dumped, we can recycle. to save trees, we can use mechanical pencils. there are so many things we can do. if anyone has any suggestions, please comment!!!!!

what we can do
we only have one earth, right? yes. is there another planet out there that can sustain life? probably not. is anyone else out there upset because of all the pollution that's lying around? well, i sure hope so. why should we keep on letting factories spew harmful smog into the air that we breathe? why should we let nuclear plants dump poisonous wastes into our fresh drinking water? we shouldn't. there are things that we can do to keep our air and water clean. like what, you may ask. well, here are some things that you can do.
--turn off the lights when you leave a room.
--try and take 5 minute showers to conserve water.
-- reuse empty water bottles, or buy hard plastic water bottles that you can use indefinitely.
--in winter, cover your windows with the insulation kits to keep the heat in.(hint: this saves money.)
-- turn off the water while sudsing a dish or washing your hair.
these are only a few of the thing that we can do to reduce waste. if anyone has any other ideas, please feel free to comment. remember, we are the future. we can do something about the pollution and the contaminated water, not only here in America, but also in third world countries. we can have a cleaner planet, only if we work together.
